How to Sync Xoom with Outlook via Google

Microsoft Outlook controls the emails, contacts, appointments, tasks and memos, but the missing Xoom Sync with Outlook disappoints them. Because they can't directly sync Outlook with their Xoom Android tablets. There are a method that allow you to achieve a Xoom sync with Outlook.

How to Sync Xoom with Outlook via Google
1. On your computer, launch Microsoft Outlook and select File > Options > Advanced > Export > Export to a file > Next.
2. Choose "Comma Separated Values" (CVS) as the file format type, Identify the contact folder and then click Next > Finish. And then copy the CSV file to your Xoom.
3. On your Xoom tablet, log into the Google account and select Gmail > Conacts and import the CSV file to transfer contacts. You can use the same procedure to sync calendar, notes.

  1. Does this automatically update your calendar every time you update in Outlook or do you have to synch it EVERY time you change/ add an appointment?

  2. The results of the sync operation are only for what's in the file you copy to your Xoom. So yes, you have to go through this process every time.

  3. This is not a true sync, but only a copy procedure. Additionally, this only copies the Outlook contacts. Nothing is mentioned of syncing the Calendar, Notes, and Tasks. There are a lot of true sync software products available and many are free and sync different parts of Outlook to the Xoom. I suggest you visit www.syncdroid.net. They have a chart that lists all the software, what it syncs, how it syncs (wireless, Wi-Fi, USB, Bluetooth), the price (free or not), and more. They also have a review telling you what is good and bad about the software so you can make a more informed decision. There are over 40 software titles listed along with a link to their sites.
